LinkedIn Lead-Gen: Product Mockup > Criticism Audit

Problem

When creating LinkedIn content targeting potential clients (e.g., PPE companies), building an audit-style dashboard that highlights their operational gaps comes across as criticism rather than value. The prospect feels attacked, not helped, and has no incentive to engage.

Solution

Instead of an audit/risk assessment, build a product mockup that looks like a real platform built FOR the target company. Show them what their operations COULD look like with your solution — real-time inventory dashboards, demand forecasting, smart reorder alerts — using their actual product names and public data. The footer should subtly credit your existing client work (e.g., "Built with the same platform powering Delta Plus procurement analytics"). This creates aspiration, not defensiveness.

Why

People respond to vision, not criticism. A product mockup says "here is what I can build for you" while an audit says "here is what is wrong with you." The mockup demonstrates capability AND creates desire simultaneously.

Gotchas

  • Do not use critical language like risk scores or failure assessments
  • Use the prospects real product names and public data to make it feel custom
  • Always include a subtle credential line linking to your proven work

Context

When creating LinkedIn posts to attract B2B clients by showcasing technical capability
